The most notable feature of the watch is the world map in the upper left corner of the screen, which gives it a spy-watch look - it's something that I would imagine a James Bond watch looking like. The watch comes with a dual time display, Twin Sensor, and a world map for choosing the time zone.
Because it's not a G-Shock, you're only getting 100m of water resistance and reduced shock resistance. But also a thinner case design.

What Is A Twin Sensor Watch?
Twin Sensor watches are Casio and G-Shock watches feature (1) a compass and (2) a thermometer. Both features are useful for casual trips and hikes, or as your backup gear on more serious expeditions (in case your main compass goes down, etc.)
Since these are tiny sensors inside of your wristwatch that we're talking about, there are a few things you should know about using both compass and thermometer correctly. Here is a short summary.
Twin Sensor Compass: Easy To Use, But Needs Calibration
For the compass to be accurate, you need to calibrate it often, preferably every time before going out on for a hike. The calibration process is simple and takes roughly 1 minute. The compass also allows you to set your magnetic declination, which you should do if you want maximum accuracy. Finally, the compass needs to be horizontal to work on every twin sensor watch.
When calibrated, the compass is easy to use. All you have to do is push the button on the side of the watch, and the compass will engage.
The compass display will be different depending on the layout of your watch. If your watch is analog, the second's hand will turn to show the North direction. If your watch is digital, then you'll have a small circle on the top of the screen with a digital bar pointing in the right direction.
Twin Sensor Thermometer: Picks Up Body Heat
The most important thing to know about the twin sensor's thermometer is that it picks up body heat from your wrist. This means that the thermometer will be inaccurate when you measure the temperature right off the wrist, since it will be warmed up by your hand.
To get an accurate reading, you need to take the watch off your wrist for ~15min and let it cool down. And only then measure the outside temperature.
You'll get used to taking off your watch with time. For me, it's become a sort of a habit to take my G-Shock off the wrist every time I want to get a reading by now.
Twin Sensor vs. Triple Sensor
When it comes to Sensor watches, Casio has two that you can go for:
- Twin Sensor (Compass, Thermometer)
- Triple Sensor (Compass, Thermometer, Altimeter/Barometer)
Here's a short breakdown of the two.
Twin Sensor
Twin sensor is the older sensor and comes with compass and thermometer features. Unlike the triple sensor, twin sensor watches don't have an altimeter feature, which means that you can't measure your elevation from the sea level.
Since Twin Sensor is quite old by now, you can find watches with it retailing significantly cheaper than Triple Sensor ones. This is particularly true for the G9300 G-Shock Mudman, which usually retails below $140.
Triple Sensor
Casio's Triple Sensor watches come with an altimeter added to the mix. The altimeter is combined with a barometer and measures your elevation from the sea level based on the air pressure around you.
While this method has it's downsides, it's the same one as they use on airplanes, and is generally reliable. Unless the weather changes and you forget to recalibrate your watch.
Which One Is Right For You?
When choosing between Triple Sensor and Twin Sensor, the main question to ask is:
"Do I need an altimeter?"
If you're not climbing high mountains and don't need to measure your elevation from the sea level on a regular basis, Twin Sensor G-Shock is probably the right option for you. Especially considering the relatively low prices that they retail at.
